Licenses and Regulation
EuroOrient Securities and Financial Services Ltd is incorporated in Cyprus and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (license number 078/07). CySEC (www.cysec.gov.cy) is the regulatory and supervisory authority of the Financial Services industry in Cyprus and member of the CESR (The Committee of the European Securities Regulators).
The company complies with European Directives i.e. MiFID (Market in Financial Instruments Directive) which was introduced on November 1st 2007, and operates under the laws, regulations, circulars, decisions and directives of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. Our internal Compliance Department ensures that the company operates as mentioned above and in addition implements the required Anti-Money Laundering measures for new clients and trading activity.
The Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) is the new European legislation that has come into effect on 1st November 2007, both in Cyprus and the other countries of the European Union. MiFID regulates the provision of financial services by Credit Institutions and Investment Firms. MiFID's main objective is to enhance the single European financial marketplace, improve competition between the countries of the European Union and offer greater protection to investors. This new Directive has been implemented in Cyprus by the Investment Services and Activities and Regulated Markets Law of 2007 (Law 144(I)/2007).
